Ludvig Lindström is the founder and President of Global Happiness Organization (GHO). GHO is a scientifically-based, nonprofit organization that aims to promote happiness and reduce suffering worldwide. It currently exists in the US, Sweden, Portugal, the UAE and Germany.

As an animal rights advocate, Ludvig aims for increasing happiness not only for humans but also for our fellow beings. He has been working for the American animal rights organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) as well as Animal Rights Sweden.

Overall, world population has become increasingly happier the past few decades and this illustrates that greater happiness is possible. Still happiness did not rise everywhere and most countries are far from the level of happiness currently realized in Denmark. What is more, even in happy countries we see high rates of depression and other mental disorders, especially among young people.
